The SKIM 2025 International Conference served as a focal point for academics from Indonesia, Malaysia, and other countries to present their thoughts and research findings on challenges facing the Global South. Adopting a hybrid format, the conference fostered inclusive discussions through academic presentations and interactive panel sessions, including three-minute short presentations for young researchers. This event served as a crucial platform for strengthening cross-national and cross-disciplinary understanding of strategic social, political, and humanities issues.

Academic Networking and Mobility provides a means of building a strong academic network through lecturer exchange programs, guest lectures, and collaborative workshops between the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Unpad and UKM. These activities are designed to broaden horizons, strengthen institutional relationships, and open up opportunities for cross-university research and teaching collaboration. These face-to-face meetings between academics serve as a crucial foundation for strengthening academic diplomacy in the Southeast Asian region.
The Research Festival showcased outstanding research work from Unpad’s Faculty of Social and Political Sciences students and student activity units (UKM) in the form of digital posters published on the conference’s official website. Participants had the opportunity to further discuss research ideas and findings, opening up new collaborations. The festival emphasized the importance of documenting and disseminating student research results as part of an institution’s academic contribution.
Note: All student-focused activities are jointly managed by UKM and Unpad student representatives.
